Prince William and Prince Harry are no longer on speaking terms since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the firm in 2022 and moved to California to start the new chapter of life.
The couple are parents to two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
But during the younger years, before tensions strained their bond, the two brothers would often argue playfully over who would make the better monarch. Their late mother, Princess Diana, sometimes joined lighthearted debates, and according to royal expert, she secretly believed that Harry might have been more suited for the crown than William.
Although Diana never publicly explained why she felt this way, she did give Harry a nickname that hinted at her thoughts. It has been widely reported that William, as a boy, would sometimes confide in his mother that he 'did not want to be king.'
In response, a young Harry would cheekily reply, 'If you do not want the job, I will take it.'
Royal expert Robert Jobson revealed in the Channel 5 programme William & Harry: Princess At War: 'She used to refer to Harry as GKH(Good King Harry) because she thought he'd probably be better equipped for the role in the future than William.'
