Princess Kate skips Royal procession for health
Prince William is said to be 'fighting tooth and nail' to protect Princess Kate as she continues her recovery from cancer treatment, with royal insiders revealing that the couple is reassessing their approach to royal life.
According to sources speaking to The Daily Beast, the Princess of Wales is undergoing a significant recalibration of her work life balance.
"Kate is recalibrating her entire life, her entire work-life balance," a former royal staffer shared, suggesting a more measured and mindful approach to her future duties.
The need for this reset became clear earlier this week when Kate withdrew from the Royal Ascot carriage procession just hours before the event.
Her team emphasised the importance of 'balance' as she steadily recovers and eases back into public life.
While the Princess made moving appearances at Trooping the Colour and the Order of the Garter, sources close to the couple now suggest that her upcoming engagements will be reduced as she continues to prioritise her health and long term wellbeing.
Insiders revealed that the Princess of Wales plans to remain active in her charitable work even if that means doing so behind the scenes for now.
This was already on display Friday, when Kate released a heartfelt written message in support of Children’s Hospice Week, drawing on her role as Royal Patron of both East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Tŷ Hafan in South Wales.
"The important thing here is Kate’s recovery," one royal insider told The Daily Beast, noting that her recent schedule three appearances in under a week may have been too ambitious. "It was too much, unfortunately, and the lesson has been learned."
Prince William, sources say, is unwavering in his support. A former palace staffer noted, "If she needs more time to recover, William will fight tooth and nail to see she is given it."
