Queen Camilla receives sweet title from Prince William, Kate’s children
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis refuse to address Camilla with traditional title
Prince William previously had his reservations about his stepmother, Camilla, along with his now-estranged brother Prince Harry.
King Charles’s two sons had a hard time adjusting to the fact that their father had remarried. Although, the Duke of Sussex still holds an unflattering opinion for the Queen Consort, William seems to have accepted Camilla and has been seen sharing a civil bond with her.
That bond had now extended to the next generation and William and Kate Middleton’s children have given their step-grandmother an interesting title, a reflection of the relationship they share.
Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, do not address Queen Camilla with the traditional title ‘grandma’ or ‘granny’, in fact they call her ‘Gaga’.
The detail was unveiled during a warm exchange at the 2016 Royal Variety Performance. The Sun reported that Camilla informed Lady Gaga that her step-grandchildren affectionately called her ‘GaGa’.
“My own grandchildren call me GaGa,” Camilla had said when Prince George was born. “I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet.”
Camilla is not the only one with a special title – different from the traditional nicknames.
Prince George used to refer to the late Queen Elizabeth as ‘Gan-Gan’. Meanwhile, William used to call her ‘Gary’ during his younger years due to difficulties pronouncing ‘grandma’.
