Prince William skips day two of royal family outing amid Kate's absence
King Charles and Queen Camilla led the packed royal turnout amid the Prince and Princess of Wales' absence
Prince William was noticeably absent from day two of the Royal Ascot, as King Charles and Queen Camilla led a packed royal turnout.
On Thursday, June 19, the King and Queen arrived for the third day of the iconic horse racing event flanked by a strong royal presence.
Charles’ siblings Princess Anne and Prince Edward, along with their spouses, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, joined the royal carriage procession. Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi followed close behind, as did Zara and Mike Tindall.
The Prince of Wales, who appeared solo at Ascot the day before, did not return for Thursday’s outing despite attending a day prior. Instead, he was visiting Colorfix with Earthshot Prize Council member Cate Blanchett.
His wife, Princess Kate, had initially been listed to attend on Wednesday but was pulled from the royal procession at the last minute. It was later clarified that the the Princess of Wales' name was never supposed to be on the attendance list to begin with.
Princess Catherine, 43, continues to pace her return to royal duties while undergoing recovery from cancer.
The royal couple had attended several engagements together in the days prior, including Trooping the Colour and Garter Day.
