David Beckham attends King's Foundation's ceremony
David Beckham publicly backed King Charles just days before reports suggest he will finally receive his long-anticipated knighthood.
The former football star joined a host of A-list celebrities, including Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, and Penny Lancaster, at St James's Palace for the King's Foundation's 35th anniversary ceremony.
During the prestigious event, King Charles personally presented awards, including the King Charles III Harmony Award, which went to Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Muhammad Younus.
The Sun reports that Beckham is set to be knighted by the monarch this Friday, a long-awaited honour that has been the subject of much speculation.
The grand ceremony, which welcomed around 200 guests, recognised remarkable achievements in sustainability, traditional heritage skills, and environmental education.
The charity, founded by the KIng 35 years ago, has trained over 115,000 students in time-honoured crafts and eco-conscious practices. It has also attracted more than 2.5 million visitors to its sites across the UK and positively influenced over 500,000 lives through sustainable urban development projects.
Guests enjoyed interactive exhibits showcasing the Foundations' work in areas like furniture making, millinery, and embroidery.
Professor Yunus was honoured for his outstanding, long standing dedication to the King's Harmony philosophy- a vision that champions sustainability and the integration of nature into every aspect of society.
Additionally, Yasmeen Lari- Pakistan's first female architect received the Innovation in Practice Award. She was praised for her humanitarian efforts through the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan, which focuses on socially conscious and sustainable architectural practices.
