Princess Kate's former boss wins right to hold events at Cotswolds Manor
Princess Kate's former boss has triumphed in a lengthy legal battle with his neighbours over hosting events at his luxury estate.
John Robinson, the 77-year-old fashion tycoon and founder of the Jigsaw clothing brand, has won approval to continue holding weddings at his £12 million Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds.
His victory comes after a protracted three-year legal battle that included a nine-day public inquiry. Robinson, who once hired Princess Kate as an accessories buyer at Jigsaw before her marriage to Prince William, faced strong opposition from local residents.
Neighbours had raised concerns about potential disturbances, including late-night music, firework displays, and increased traffic on nearby roads.
In 2022, Robinson received an enforcement notice giving him four months to stop hosting events at the estate. However, after submitting two planning applications and lodging an appeal, he has now officially been granted planning permission to continue using Euridge Manor as a wedding venue.
A spokesperson for Enridge Manor Weddings said they were 'delighted at the grant of planning permission' following the long-running dispute.
Princess Kate worked at Jigsaw for just over tow years starting in June 2025 before leaving to join her family's business, Party Pieces. Local opponents had argued had argued that Robinson's estate was operating as a commercial venue without proper approval for 'change of use.'
Despite these objections, the planning process ultimately ruled in Robinson's favour, allowing events to go on as planned at the grand country manor.
