The future King, left the audience in awe as he delivered a powerful keynote address on ocean preservation, opening and closing his speech with a surprise move-that is bilingual abilities from English to French.
His first comments translated to: 'Hello. It is a pleasure to be with with you today, to discuss an incredibly important issue that I hold hear to my heart.'
He concluded his address by once again speaking in French, leaving a strong impression on attendees.
To note, William was speaking in his capacity as founder and president of The Earthshot Prize, an initiative focused on environmental innovation.
Meanwhile, King Charles also showcased his proficiency in French during a number of significant speeches. While addressing Canadian lawmakers in a 26-minute throne speech, the King smoothly alternated between English and French.
The monarch was also praised for his elegant use of the language during his historic address to the French Senate in 2023 and while speaking to a state banquet held at the Palace of Versailles.
