Buckingham Palace as continued to reassure the public that King Charles, who continues to receive weekly cancer treatments, is making good progress and getting better.
However, it has not done much to completely silence the speculation surrounding the monarch’s health and how Prince William and other senior royals – including Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie – often fill in for the King.
Charles currently resides in Clarence House and Buckingham Palace has been undergoing extensive constructions so the monarch can finally move into the royal residence. The renovations are scheduled to be finished in late 2027.
Now, a report by royal editor Camilla Tominey of Daily Telegraph, claimed that Charles’s health struggles will not allow him to finally make the big move during his reign.
The journalist suggested that Charles’s undisclosed cancer, which was diagnosed in early 2024, is incurable.
“The talk now is that he may die ‘with’ cancer, but not ‘of’ cancer following a rigorous treatment programme,” Tominey wrote about the 76-year-old monarch.
“One concession to his health and advancing years that has been made, however, is that it appears unlikely he will ever move from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after the restoration is completed in three year’s time,” she wrote.
“Although it will remain the household’s office for the rest of his reign.”
