Legendary footballer David Beckham is reportedly set to receive a Knighthood from King Charles, a prestigious honour acknowledging his outstanding contributions.

Beckham, the Inter Miami CF and Salford City co-owner, will be awarded for his soccer career and contribution to British society, according to BBC.

David's much-awaited knighthood will not only bring him esteemed recognition but also confer a new title upon his fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham, who will be formally known as Lady Beckham.

The latest report comes after David received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) back in 2003. The former Manchester United player was reportedly put forward to receive a knighthood over ten years ago, with a nomination in 2011.

David, who played for England’s national soccer team over 100 times, has also received praise for his charitable work with children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Recently, David revealed his bond with royal charity, saying:  "I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work."

In a statement at the time, he added: "I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature."

Last month, he joined the King and Queen Camilla at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in London, where he stole the spotlight by wearing a new rose named in the King's honour as they spoke at the Highgrove shop stand.

He also attended the King’s Foundation's UK-Italy celebratory dinner at Highgrove House alongside Victoria, 51, in February.

David's bond with royals and his people-friendly endeavors made him prominent figure in the eyes of the royal fans.

However, it's unclear if Brooklyn Beckham will attend the special ceremony, where his father is set to receive a knighthood.

Victoria and David's eldest son recently made headlines for missing the footballer's 50th birthday celebrations, sparking rumours of a family by appearing with Harry and Meghan in ne photos. Despite this, David has shared affectionate messages and photos with Brooklyn, suggesting a loving relationship.
