Kensington Palace issues update as Prince William takes over King's role
New photos of future King, William have been released as he returned to royal duties
Prince William made a powerful appearance following a brief break from royal duties.
On June 4, Kensington Palace released photos of the future King from his first visit as Colonel-in-Chief to the Army Air Corps.
The Prince of Wales travelled to 4 Regiment Army Air Corps at Wattisham after his father, King Charles, officially handed over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to his son.
For the unversed, on May 13, 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that the monarch had given a key responsibility to the next in line to the throne with the role of "Colonel-in-Chief of the @armyaircorps - the combat aviation arm of the British Army," at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop.
Notably, the same role was once performed by Charles 32 years ago - and now he has been succeeded by his son William.
Today, the Prince of Wales performed his crucial task as Colonel-in-Chief. He was given a firsthand introduction to the regiment's operations during the headline-making visit.
Notably, Prince William breaks cover amid the ongoing surname change controversy related to his estranged brother Harry.
