Prince William and Kate left stunned by Harry’s Meghan reveal
Prince Harry and Meghan’s love story began in 2016
Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle may have captivated the world, but it also sent shockwaves through his own family especially Prince William and Princess Kate.
In his bombshell memoir Spare, released in 2023, the Duke of Sussex detailed the unforgettable moment he first told the Prince and Princess of Wales that he was dating someone new.
Harry recalled joining his brother and sister-in-law for dinner when the conversation took a surprising turn. Sensing "something was going on," William and Kate pressed him: "Who is she?"
The royal confessed he was initially reluctant to share, but finally opened up: "She’s an actress… She’s American… On a show called Suits."
According to Harry, their jaws dropped — and William, wide-eyed, turned to him and blurted out: "Expletive off?"
In Spare, the Duke of Sussex recalled being 'baffled' by Prince William’s colourful reaction upon learning Meghan was the mystery woman in Harry’s life. But the reason soon became hilariously clear.
William and Kate, he wrote, confessed they were not just familiar with Meghan’s hit legal drama they were "regular nay, religious viewers."
Harry admitted the revelation caught him off guard. "All this time I’d thought Willy and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family," he wrote. "But now I had to worry about them hounding her for an autograph."
