Prince Harry ‘saddened’ as aunts deliver brutal blow amid family tensions

Prince Harry was seemingly disillusioned as a family meeting took an unexpected turn as the Duke of Sussex reached out to his aunts full of hope.

King Charles’s estranged son was “so disappointed” as his now-wife Meghan Markle couldn’t land the mark with his aunts.

Harry had previously shared in an interview that Meghan Shared similarities with the late Princess of Wales. However, Diana’s two sisters, Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, did not quite agree, according to royal biographer Tom Bower.

“Harry assumed that Diana's family and friends would see a similarity between Diana and his fiancée. Both, he said, shared the same problems. He was so disappointed,” The author had written in his book.

“No one agreed that his vulnerable mother had anything in common with his girlfriend. More discomforting for him, they thought Meghan would not fit in with the Royal Family.”

However, Harry believed that his late mother, whom he lost when he was just 12, would have been “over the moon” to meet Meghan. Harry made a statement in 2022 echoing those thoughts.

“So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum,” Harry had told Express UK. “She has the same compassion, the same empathy, the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.”

Prince Harry and Meghan have been estranged from the royal family since their exit in 2020 from their senior royal positions.

However, Harry still maintains ties his mother's side of the family.
