There’s no royal drama between Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Speaking to People magazine at the Mindvalley Manifesting Summit on May 17, the Iron Man actress opened up about her budding friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, clarifying that while they haven’t hung out much in person, they do keep in touch.
“We have a text friendship so far. I've been travelling quite a bit,” she said.
Paltrow also shut down rumours that there’s tension between the two lifestyle moguls, especially in recent months.
“I don't like that, when people try to pit women against each other,” she said, echoing a sentiment she’s expressed before.
Back in March, she told Vanity Fair, “Another woman is never your competition,” adding, “Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”
When asked if she’d ever appear on the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the Goop founder didn’t rule it out.
“Sure! Why not? You never know. I don't bake that well, but I can always try,” she told People during their May 17 chat.
In March, Paltrow, 52, and Markle, 43, even laughed off the “feud” rumuors in a cheeky Instagram Q&A where Prince Harry’s wife unexpectedly popped into frame.
Both women live in Montecito, and Paltrow thinks the peaceful setting might be helping their friendship bloom. “It’s just got that very special, calm beauty and lots of nature,” she said. “It’s really nice.”
