'SNL' star Michael Che apologises to Scarlett Johansson after crude roast
Scarlett Johansson and Michael Che hug it out on SNL after his risqué joke at her expense
Scarlett Johansson finally settled the score with Michael Che after his crude roast beef joke at her expense went viral.
In the last episode of the 50th season of Saturday Night Live, the Avengers star received an apology from her husband Colin Jost’s "Weekend Update" segment co-host, delivered straight from the script of her husband and his co-anchor.
During the segment in which the pair swapped jokes they had written for each other but had not seen prior, Che invited Johansson, 40, to share the screen with him and Jost as they exchanged more jokes, "Before I tell another joke, I wanna take this opportunity to apologise to someone I hurt."
The 41-year-old comedian recalled the joke in front of her, then continued, per the joke written for him by Jost, "I was just lashing out because I’m jealous."
For the unversed, last year, Che made Johansson’s husband, Jost, 42, read an explicit joke about her on the NBC comedy sketch.
When he read that joke, the Black Widow actress’ shocked reaction from backstage was recorded as she mouthed, "Oh my God."
In a recent Vanity Fair, she playfully talked about “retaliating,” and now, the latest season of SNL is wrapped up with her payback.
It is pertinent to note that Johansson and Che shared a warm hug at the end of the Weekend Update segment, seemingly making peace with a bit of help from her husband.
