Michelle Williams just had a major double-take moment — and the internet can’t get enough of it. The Destiny’s Child alum, 45, finally crossed paths with her long-time name twin, Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams, after the actress stopped by to catch the singer’s Broadway show Death Becomes Her on Thursday night.
And yes, the meeting was just as iconic as fans hoped.
“Y’all we had an amazing show tonight,” the singer said excitedly in a video shared to Instagram that same evening.
“The crowd was lit. We love lit crowds. And so I’ve got more things to sign. I always love to bring y’all in on my journey and of course I’ve got more, more, more of these!”
While holding up photos of the Shutter Island actress — the same ones fans mistakenly sent her over the years for autographs — the singer couldn’t help but laugh at the full-circle moment.
Before getting back to signing, she called off-camera for “one more moment,” and hilariously asked, “What do you want?” as she swung the camera around to reveal none other than the actress herself, casually sitting on a stool with her own stack of photos and a marker.
“Who should I make it out to?” the actress asked sweetly, causing the singer to burst into laughter.
“Would you make them out to me?” she replied as both women shared a giggle that pretty much melted the internet.
“#FINALLY,” the singer captioned the unforgettable video, which immediately went viral.
Fans couldn’t help but flood the comments section with pure joy.
“Was not expecting this at all ALL and I loved every moment!!” one follower gushed, while another raved, “I love everything about this!!!” Of course, it didn’t take long for someone to quote Eminem with, “Would the real Michelle Williams please stand up!” And another fan summed it up perfectly: “THIS WAS THE DEFINITION OF ICONIC!”
It’s safe to say this was a Michelle-on-Michelle moment we didn’t know we needed — but are so glad happened!
