'8 Mile' star notes 'biggest change' in Hollywood over the years
Omar Miller opens up about the difference he observed in the entertainment industry
Omar Miller has recently witnessed biggest change in Hollywood over the years.
In a new interview with The Daily Mail Bag, the 8 Mile star explained how actors in the entertainment industry are no longer getting “perks.
When asked about the difference, Omar said that now “everything is consolidated”.
“Movies were a big huge deal when I got involved. They were expensive. And there were perks,” explained the 46-year-old.
However, the Sorority Boys actor mentioned, “They're really cutting the margins now because the business has changed, and you notice it at work. Everything is skinner.”
Omar also noted the positive change in the entertainment industry, saying, “Things move faster because we're shooting most of the time on digital and not film.”
The actor opened up that his latest project, Sinners, was “shot on film” and added, “It was a throwback that I was very excited about.”
“Each take is more precious when you're shooting on film. And I like that because it raises the stakes and everything you do matters just a little bit more,” stated Omar.
Meanwhile, the actor also shared his experience working with Oscar-winning director Spike Lee in 2008 epic war drama, Miracle At St. Anna.
When asked what advice he received from Spike, Omar said, “It's about the canon of work.”
