KARACHI: Mufti Abdul Qawi has claimed that so-called social media sensation Qandeel Baloch has extended apology to him over video and selfies scandal.
Mufti Qawi said, “Qandeel Baloch telephoned me last night and apologized over selfie and video issue and said whatever happened it was unfortunate.”
Meanwhile, Qandeel Baloch has refuted Mufti’s claim, saying she wanted to talk Mufti Qawi in detail but he did not pick my phone call.
Qandeel went on to say she was happy to expose Mufti’s real face, however, feeling sad over suspension of his Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s membership.
She disclosed that Mufti Abdul Qawi was not fasting at the time of their meeting and enjoyed soft drink with her as well.
Qandeel Baloch on Monday took internet by storm as she shared a couple of selfies of herself with Mufti Abdul Qawi before ridiculing the cleric on different TV channels.
A selfie shows Baloch posing with Mufti, sitting next to him. The second picture shows Mufti holding a cell phone to his ear and Baloch wearing his hat, standing close to him.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf suspended the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s membership of Mufti Qawi after appearing his selfies with model girl Qandeel Baloch on social media.
