Taylor Swift ‘Reputation’ re-release drama unveiled
Taylor Swift fans speculate 'reputation' re-release date
Taylor Swift has got a big reputation for keeping her fans guessing.
The 35-year old pop superstar caught her fans off-guard when suddenly two of her unreleased albums Reputation and debut disappeared from Spotify.
It was later reported that the Anti-Hero hitmaker filed the final extension for the trademarks "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" and "Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)" on Thursday, getting Swifties excited for both the albums before August 16th.
The application entails that the 14-time-Grammy winner will have to use the trademarked names before they are available for use in the public domain.
When Swift announced her first re-recording to reclaim her work after the Scooter Braun scandal, her team simultaneously submitted paperwork for the remaining albums.
The applications established that the trademarks were "intent to use," which meant that the Speak Now songstress wanted to protect her rerecorded albums but she hadn't started using the trademarks in commerce, as in, for official merch. However, she did have the intent to.
Swifties have been noticing multiple Easter eggs since the record-breaking Eras Tour. The popstar has seemingly been dressing up in darker hues as she makes public appearances, which aligns with the aesthetic of her 2017 album Reputation.
Fans expected Swift to announce the re-recording at the last show of Eras Tour but they were left desiring. However, Swifties’ fingers are crossed once again to get the announcement in the upcoming six months.
