'Suits' star Gabriel Macht opens up about his decision to leave US
Gabriel Macht talks about keeping his life private
Gabriel Macht, following his move to Europe, best known for his role in Suits, has chosen to maintain a private life, keeping his location and that of his family out of the public eye.
In a recent interview, the 53-year-old, who starred as Harvey Spectre in the nine-season courtroom drama, disclosed that he had left the United States.
“I am based somewhere in Europe, but I don’t tell anybody where I live because I like to keep that under wraps,” he told People magazine.
“I got out of town and we’re exploring the world.”
Macht and his wife, Australian-American actress and former model Jacinda Barrett, have a 10-year-old son named Luca and a 17-year-old daughter named Satine.
He clarified that the notion of relocating overseas initially gained traction following the conclusion of Suits' last season's production in 2019.
To spend more time with his family, the actor at the time desired to take a "long break" from performing.
“Right before COVID, we wanted to take the kids out of school and homeschool them,” Macht said. “But then we got stuck and so we were in Manhattan. That just wasn’t doing it for us.”
Macht said of his time in the States: “I grew up in L.A. and I lived in New York for many, many years. Half of my life on the East Coast, half of my life on the West Coast.”
He said his family needed a change: “We decided to explore the world, so we left.”
