Prince William’s birthday tribute to Princess Kate breaks Royal tradition

Prince William's heartfelt tribute to his wife, Princess Kate, on her 43rd birthday has garnered worldwide appreciation.

The Prince of Wales delighted royal fans with his public declaration celebrating the Princess of Wales's birthday on Wednesday.

Royal reporter Bronte Coy noted that such a public gesture is “unprecedented” for a non-milestone birthday, particularly for the typically “low-key” royals. She also suggested that it reflects William’s “relief” and happiness over Kate’s recent health improvement.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Bronte shared: “I was really taken aback, but in a delightful way by that tweet, because, as you said, it's quite remarkable.

“It's a 43rd, typically the royals are a little bit more low key with their personal messages, particularly William.”

In his poignant message, William dedicated his post to "the most incredible wife and mother," following her year undergoing preventative cancer treatment.

Bronte added to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson: “For me when I read it, “It read to me like a man who's feeling relieved and optimistic and happy about the future.

Matt pointed out that William’s emotional message felt like he was “rewriting” typical royal rules.

The royal editor shared: “He seems to be rewriting his place in the royal family, in the way he communicates, because only a few weeks ago, where he described his hardest year, now he's actually writing this, this tweet.
