Jim Carrey sets new record as he beats Christian Bale, Paul Rudd at Global Box Office
Jim Carrey came out of retirement for 'Sonic 3'
Jim Carrey has just achieved a great milestone in his career yet again.
Even though, Carrey has done only three theatrical movies in the last seven years, and those worked as a charm for him.
The three movies which he did were all Sonic the Hedgehog films, but his character of Robotnik stood out in the franchise making him a global icon once again.
After the success of the second sequel of the Hedgehog film, the Mask actor announced that he has had enough and has planned to retire permanently.
Later, when the newest entry of Sonic was offered to him, his statement somewhat changed as he said he didn’t retire rather he was ‘power-resting.’
The 2024 action-adventure film has collected around $350 million globally, after which Jim’s aggregate career draw has surpassed the $6 billion mark.
With Sonic, the Liar Liar actor has taken over the records of actors Christian Bale, Cameron Diaz, Natalie Portman, Paul Rudd and his co-actors in the Jeff Fowler movie Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves.
The 62-year-old actor’s highest grossing film was Bruce Almighty which grossed nearly $490 million in 2018. Later his films, The Mask and How the Grinch Stole Christmas turned out to be the box office hits.
The actor saw a major career decline in 2010 with films like The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Kick-Ass 2.
Jim Carrey has regained the lost pride with Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
