The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's five-year deal with Netflix, inked in 2020 following their departure from royal duties, is approaching its expiration. Speculation is mounting over whether the streaming giant will renew the lucrative contract.

A former BBC royal correspondent weighed in, suggesting the couple's trajectory hinges on Meghan’s next project, a lifestyle-focused series celebrating the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship. 

This venture aligns closely with Meghan's personal brand, offering an opportunity to showcase her creative vision as the pair navigate their evolving roles in the media landscape.

Reflecting on the couple’s five-year partnership with the streaming giant, the expert said, "The success or otherwise of Meghan's show could dictate the future. It all depends on whether Netflix extends their contract."

The Sussexes made headlines with their Netflix docuseries and other ventures, but the commentator hinted at challenges ahead, stating, "Television is a hotly competitive field, and Harry and Meghan's own story was the big one for Netflix. After that, it's hard to see exactly what they have to offer."

She added, "They are not seasoned producers, and learning on the job is not easy."
