Jennifer Love Hewitt sent her fans into a frenzy with her return for the I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel.
On Friday, December 13, the actress who played Julie James in the original film officially confirmed on Instagram that she is reprising her role in the reboot.
"It’s never too late to go back. Julie James is returning. I know what you will be doing next summer!@IKnowWhatYouDidLastSummerMovie," she captioned the exciting post.
Hewitt became a living embodiment of the saying, "Good things come to those who wait," as her fans went gaga over the official announcement.
"This is your year babe!!! Woo!!![fire and red heart emoji]," one fan wrote remarked.
"I’ve missed Julie James so much!!! Cannot wait," says a second fan.
"Wait!!! What!!!! Yay!!!!! I know what I’ll be doing next summer!!!," exclaimed another with a row of red heart emojis.
"Now this sequel becomes more interesting. The OG, the face/heart of the franchise, is back!" a fourth fan added enthusiastically.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the reboot will also feature Freddie Prince Jr., who originally played Julie’s boyfriend, Ray Bronson.
The I Know What You Did Last Summer sequel is slated to release on July 18.
