Charli XCX has recently opened up about suffering from nerve damage after finishing her Brat tour.
In a new interview with Variety, Charlie, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, revealed that the non-stop tour had taken a toll on her body, which finally ended on December 2.
“I find the stage these days to be a very angry place for me,” said the Apple singer.
Charli told the outlet, “I’ve done a lot of physical damage to my body from performing on stage.”
The musician shared she rocked so hard that she had injured herself.
“Genuinely, physically I have nerve damage in my neck from things that I’ve done on the stage,” remarked the 32-year-old.
Reflecting on her performance, the Boys crooner pointed out, “For me to give a performance that I feel is good enough, I have to physically throw myself around and that makes me very upset when I do it.”
However, Charli shared she had an amazing time performing with longtime friend and collaborator Troye Sivan.
“Being with Troye just softens that quite a lot and a lot of other people on the tour just made me feel a lot lighter,” remarked the songstress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Charli mentioned that she found touring “really hard emotionally,” noting being with Troye “just made that a lot easier and less of an emotional battle for me”.
“I think our cute off days were probably my most fun memory,” she continued.
The singer added, “We became, actually, quite a nice little family on that tour.”
