Blake Lively plans ‘best’ birthday surprise for Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively celebrates Ryan Reynolds’ birthday after ‘It Ends with Us’ drama
Blake Lively, who landed in deep waters of scathing critique after It Ends with Us release, planned a fun day out for family to celebrate husband Ryan Reynolds’s 48th birthday.
The Gossip Girl alum, 37, took her husband and daughters to see a performance of the Tony-nominated musical & Juliet on Wednesday, October 23rd.
“I don’t know what to get him for his birthday? What do you get him for his birthday? I know he loves musicals, I love musicals, the kids love musicals. So it felt like the right choice!” Lively told the cast after the performance, per source.
The It Ends with Us actress was “blown away” by “how really well-written it is,” the source present at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre shared, adding that the family had all loved the show.
“‘This is the best things I’ve ever seen in my life. You are all so talented, it’s ridiculous. You guys are the ones in showbiz, I’m such a fake! I could never do what you all did,'” the insider recalled the Deadpool actor telling the cast.
A second source shared that Reynolds was “very, very sweet and generous with his time.”
“Blake too, couldn’t have been kinder,” they said, detailing that, “They stayed a long time, and really made sure every actor felt seen and appreciated.”
After sharing some light-hearted jokes, the crew gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” to Reynolds.
The couple took some photos with the cast backstage and Lively took a few solo snaps of Reynolds on the Broadway stage.
