Prince William is seemingly leaning onto support on a close family member as major shifts take place in the royal family, much likely to the royal’s dismay.
The Prince of Wales, who is reportedly preparing for his role as King in secret, made an unexpected gesture for his estranged brother Prince Harry, as he marked his milestone 40th birthday.
The official account of the Prince and Princess of Wales reshared the birthday post issued by King Charles’ office, with a message which simply read, Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!”
This marked the first time in three years Harry had received a nod from his elder brother. The simple post was major shift in their royal rift as the two brothers are reportedly not on speaking terms.
Given the difficult times William has been going through, given growing responsibilities amid his father’s cancer and wife Kate Middleton’s health woes, the future king is leaning onto a close relative for support.
The royal was recently joined by his late mother’s sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, at an RAF graduation ceremony. According to The Times, Lady Sarah was keen to be there to support her nephew.
All three of Diana’s siblings – Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane Fellowes – have remained close to William and Harry, quietly supporting them at occasional events over the years, per the outlet.
Meanwhile, per a report by The Daily Beast, Princess Diana’s family is already hatching a plan to end their feud.
Despite understanding “William’s hurt at Harry’s betrayal and Harry’s position because of the way Diana was treated by the Windsors,” the Spencers are working hard to get the brothers to reconcile.
