Prince William and Prince Harry had a major breakthrough in their royal rift as they marked big milestone.
The Duke of Sussex, who is reportedly not on speaking terms with his older brother, received a surprising birthday greeting from the Prince of Wales on his 40th, on Sunday, September 15th.
The birthday wish, which came for the first time in three years, raised hopes of reconciliation between the warring brothers, given that reports previously suggested Prince Harry making efforts to make amends.
However, according to palace insiders, Harry was going to get a call from his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, and his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
“Harry will hear from his family,” the insider told The Post. “It’s very likely that Charles and Kate will likely phone Harry to wish him well on his birthday.” Although, the source added that William is unlikely to call his brother.
Moreover, eagle-eyed royal watchers also noted that in the birthday wish shared by the Waleses’ official account did not include the personalised “W & C” at the end, which would suggest a deeper meaning to the post.
Another source told Express.co.uk that despite the public recognition, William is going to keep Harry at “an arms-length, and a willingness to acknowledge him with a sense of distant respect.”
Meanwhile, former royal butler Paul Burrell told Closer Magazine that this is a “sensitive topic” for the future King, and he “does not like betrayal” and “there isn’t room for negotiation at this time in his life.”
It remains to be seen if Prince William would to open to the idea of reuniting with his brother Prince Harry.
