2024 Emmy Awards, Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts: ‘no competitive vibes’
Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts open up on supporting each other in their careers
Billy Crudup and Naomi Watts shared how they are always there for each other, especially in the pressure of awards.
The couple, which tied the knot in June 2023, got candid in a conversation with E! News on the red carpet pre-show of the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards and shared how happy they are to have each other's side, especially when the awards season is around.
“We were talking about it this morning, what a power couple we were,” Crudup, 56, quipped as he gushed about his wife. “It's incredibly gratifying to be by her side,” he added, to which Watts, 55, agreed.
“The same. It's much easier to do this with someone,” she said, and expressed how “grateful” she feels “to be nominated for the first time” at the Emmys.
The actress added that “having someone on your team, holding the hand, little bit of eye contact just to centre yourself” really helps and has made her feel comfortable when attending awards shows and during public appearances, because despite her experience with them, they never feel “natural.”
The couple also shared advising each other professionally.
“We talk about work quite a bit and we'll run through ideas that we'll have for scenes or characters. And I have to say that there are no competitive vibes at all,” shared Crudup, who got a nomination under outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for Apple TV+’s The Morning Show.
