James Middleton shared an anecdote about one such royal experience alongside his sister, Pippa Middleton.
The entrepreneur recounted a particularly memorable blunder on Saturday involving the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The story unfolded during a special tea party hosted by the Queen at Sandringham for his sister, the Princess of Wales’ birthday.
James and Pippa had just endured a grueling late-night flight from France, arriving bleary-eyed at Gatwick Airport before making a dash to Bucklebury to pack.
Despite their exhaustion, they still had to rush to Sandringham to join the royal celebration. James recalled, "Pippa and I were late for Catherine's birthday party, which, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t have been a big deal.
But this time, the Queen had hosted the tea at Sandringham, making our tardiness a bit more memorable."
In a whirlwind of last-minute chaos, James and his sister arrived at the royal tea party at Sandringham in a state of disarray.
After a frantic struggle with ironing and a missing cufflink, the duo rushed out the door, arriving "breathless and flustered" with barely any time to spare.
James revealed he had been mentally rehearsing his greeting for the Queen throughout their journey to Norfolk.
He recounted the comical scene: "I bounded downstairs two at a time and burst into the room where everyone was gathered for tea, nearly colliding with Her Majesty.
Just as I made my entrance, the Queen and Prince Philip were preparing to leave. Pippa followed closely behind, and there we were, stumbling into the royal gathering in quite the unceremonious fashion."
