Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder address viral pap moment
Jenna Ortega has made headlines last month for supporting Winona Ryder to stand her ground in front of paps
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice stars Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder have recently addressed viral red carpet moment at the Venice Film Festival.
Speaking to Hits Radio UK journalist, Jenna reflected on the moment when she told Winona not to take her sunglasses off to the paparazzi’s request while on the red carpet during the festival.
“Jenna, the other day at [the Venice Film Festival], it was so powerful when you told Winona that she didn’t have to take off her sunglasses,” asked the journalist.
To which, Winona replied, “I think this is my first viral moment! They were screaming, 'Take your glasses off!' And I was like, 'Uhhh.' And Jenna's like, 'No, you don't have to do that.' And it was amazing.’”
Jenna said, “Yeah, it’s so simple. That’s nothing to praise or applaud. You don’t have to take your glasses off. It was hot. They looked cool.”
“We do come from a generation where you’re like: ‘Ugh. OK…’” noted the Stranger Things actress.
However, the Wednesday star mentioned, “I think it’s much easier to do it for other people.”
“I feel like if I wore glasses and they told me, I think you would have done it like that,” remarked Jenna.
Winona confessed, “Yeah, like, if they were screaming that at her. Yeah, I would have lunged at them.”
Jenna added, “Because it is awkward.”
