Will.i.am swipes at Simon Cowell for UK’s future boyband
Will.i.am claims he beats Simon Cowell in the chase for UK’s next biggest boyband during The Voice screening
Will.i.am has recently clapped back at Simon Cowell for the UK’s next biggest boyband during an early screening of The Voice.
Speaking to MailOnline, Will.i.am revealed he beat Simon as his UK singing competition, The Voice, returned for its 13th season.
When questioned about finding the UK’s next biggest boyband, to which he replied, “The difference between me and Simon is that I can write and produce it.”
“He is looking for it, where as I can get in the kitchen and cook it up,” remarked the rapper.
Earlier this year, Simon shared he was on the hunt for the next One Direction and scoured the country for a new boyband.
Simon recalled he put together One Direction's Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik on The X Factor in 2010, who later took the pop world by storm.
In a clip shared via the outlet, Will.i.am appeared very confident about his choices in singers as he disclosed that he recalled “winning this year’s show”.
“There are things that I remember, things that I don't remember, but I remember winning,” remarked the musician.
Will.i.am’s confidence came weeks after Simon spent weeks travelling the county in search of a new talent.
Meanwhile, Simon is going to appear in a Netflix documentary called The Midas Touch.
An insider on The Midas Touch told the Daily Mail, “Simon has been told the original idea behind the series needs to change.”
“His frustration is at the auditions where many of the singers turning up are cast-offs from bands that didn't make it,” said an insider.
