Meghan Markle recalls ‘traumatic’ past while living with royals
Meghan Markle holds back tears as she opens up about 'painful' incident
Meghan Markle made it to the headlines after she recalled her difficult days spent in the UK during a sit-down interview with Prince Harry.
For the unversed, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a joint appearance on CBS News on Sunday, August 4, discussing the growing rate of cyberbullying and its serious impact on the young people.
During the conversation, the host of the show Jane Pauley talked about Meghan's emotional confession about battling suicidal thoughts at the Oprah Winfrey interview.
The interviewer said, "The connection that you have with people is they know you had suffered too, personally, contemplating killing yourself, is what suicidal ideation was."
The question seemingly left the former Suits actress uncomfortable, however, the mother-of-two turned for emotional support towards her husband.
At start, Meghan said, "I wasn't expecting it." Later, she added, "When you've been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey, certainly part of mine, is being able to be really open about it."
She continued, "I have not really scrapped the surface on my experience but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way and I would never want someone else to be making those plans..."
Meghan said that if anyone gets inspired by her story or overcomes their traumas then "that's worth it."
