ASTANA, Kazakhstan: Five time world champion and London Olympics bronze-medallist Indian Boxer Mary Kom failed to qualify for the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics after losing her pre-quarterfinal bout at the AIBA Women’s World Championships on Saturday.
Kom suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Germany’s Azize Nimani in the 51kg category. The event is the last qualifying event for Rio Games and the participants needed to reach atleast the semi-final to make the cut.
