James Corden moved to tears after writing Gavin and Stacey's final episode
Gavin and Stacey star James Corden breaks silence after writing the final episode
Gavin and Stacey star James Corden issued an emotional statement after completing the final episode alongside Ruth Jones.
Making an appearance on Virgin Radio this week, the 45-year-old multi-hyphenate star announced that the script is now complete.
Reflecting on his writing experience, Corden, who co-wrote the show with Ruth Jones, shared, "Rewriting is really difficult. Writing is really fun because you can just go 'anything can happen. But when you rewrite stuff, you're dealing with a lot of logistics and 'well, look we might not be able to shoot that, or this needs to be in this location, is there any way this can change?'"
He said the finale made him "very emotional," realising that the pair will never pen another episode for the show.
The Smithy actor further added, "We've finished writing, we will never write anything that Pam [Alison Steadman's character] says again…We will never come up with an interesting thing that Bryn [Rob Brydon's character] has done."
On professional front, James and Ruth previously announced a final Christmas episode that is slated to air in December 2024.
