Dove Cameron is turning back the clock on her relationship with Damiano David.
In a new cover story interview with Cosmopolitan, the 28-year-old singer and actress recalled how she and the Måneskin frontman, 25, had known each other for a year before officially dating, and things were always “super innocent” during that time.
were “very slow, cautious,” and “super innocent at first.”
It was only when Cameron attended her first Måneskin concert in 2023 that they “started talking and then he asked [her] to the after-party. And then very quickly it became, ‘Let’s have dinner at 8:00 at this spot.’”
“He’s a Capricorn, so he was very much like, ‘OK these are my intentions,’” Cameron recalled about their first date, adding, “It was super honorable. He’s like a 1950s gentleman, angel, teddy bear. He’s the best person I’ve met in my life.”
Noting that they were “very slow’ cautious” at first, she recalled, “I remember I was fascinated because he presents in a way that seems very easily digestible and then you spend two hours around him and you realise he is the kindest, most generous, most innocent, most giving person. He’s just a beautiful, sensitive soul.”
Cameron first met the band as a group at the 2022 VMAs, and they were set to collaborate later on, but Cameron “couldn’t make it happen.” They met again a year afterwards at the 2023 VMAs, which is when David invited her to Måneskin ’s Rush! World Tour opening act at Madison Square Garden.
