Billy Ray Cyrus accuses Firerose of ‘fraudulent charges’ on credit cards
Billy Ray Cyrus is taking legal action against estranged wife Firerose after filing for divorce
Billy Ray Cyrus appears to be taking legal measures in order to protect his assets from estranged wife, Firerose.
The country singer, 62, filed an emergency motion in Tennessee court on Thursday, June 13 seeking a temporary restraining order to keep Firerose from any “unauthorised” use of his personal and business credit cards and accounts, via People Magazine.
Legal documents revealed that Firerose, real name Johanna Rose Hodges, has in recent weeks spent $96,986 on 37 unauthorised charges on his business account, including $70,665 in payments to her attorneys.
“As a result of these fraudulent charges… I am concerned that Ms. Hodges is in possession of other information that she may use to make fraudulent, unauthorised charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts,” Cyrus wrote in an affidavit.
Cyrus had filed for divorce in May after nearly seven months of marriage. The pair first met over 10 years ago on the set of the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, which starred Cyrus’ daughter Miley.
However, the two remained friends over the years but did not begin dating until 2022, following Cyrus final split with wife, Tish.
The Achy Breaky Heart singer cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct for his reason for split.
In response, Firerose, 37, has refused claims that the transactions were “unauthorised” since she has had access to it since June 2022.
Cyrus is now asking his estranged wife to refund or return anything she bought with his business credit card.
