Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman starred in original 1998 movie
Sandra Bullock is reportedly teaming up with Nicole Kidman for Practical Magic sequel.
PEOPLE reported that both actresses are in talks and “deals are in process” for the stars to make a comeback for a sequel to the 1998 movie.
The outlet learned that Akiva Goldsman has been hired to write the screenplay, with Sandra and Nicole to produce the new project with Denise Di Novi.
In 2019, HBO tried to make a reboot of the Practical Magic title with a series, Rules of Magic, which was believed to be based on Alice Hoffman’s prequel novel. But that show didn’t work out, via Variety.
Interestingly, the original movie remained a fan-favourite even after 26 years.
Earlier at the Academy Awards in 2018, Nicole said, “I love that movie.”
“I showed that movie to my kids. It's a little above their [level of understanding] … But we're really good sisters,” remarked the Moulin Rouge star.
Sandra recalled her favourite scene from the original supernatural movie, which included “midnight margaritas” scene, where both stars seemingly got slightly drunk while filming.
“We were talking about when we shot [Practical Magic] together, and we asked her to get the tequila; she came back with her own tequila, but we drank it anyway. We were a little drunk,” added the Speed actress.
