Sania Mirza asks for forgiveness as she leaves for Hajj
"I humbly ask for your forgiveness for any wrongdoings and shortcomings," says Sania
Former Indian star tennis player Sania Mirza is all set to embark on a spiritual journey to the holy land of Makkah to perform Hajj.
Sania announced the news via a post on Instagram.
She wrote: "Dear friends and loved ones, I have been blessed with the incredible opportunity to embark on the sacred journey of Hajj. As I prepare for this transformative experience."
Calling this a chance to seek redemption and spiritual renewal, Sania asked for forgiveness.
"I humbly ask for your forgiveness for any wrongdoings and shortcomings. My heart is filled with gratitude for this chance to seek redemption and spiritual renewal. I pray that Allah accepts my prayers and guides me on this blessed path.
"I am deeply fortunate and feel immensely grateful. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I embark on this journey for a lifetime. I hope to come back as a better human being with a humble heart and stronger imaan."
This is not the first time Sania will be travelling to Saudi Arabia, as last year, right after retiring from tennis, she along with her close ones went to Makkah to perform Umrah.
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and can only be performed during a certain month, whereas Umrah is Sunnah and can be performed all year round.
