Sarah Wayne Callies got candid about facing “misogyny” while filming Prison Break, recalling the time when she was spat on by a male co-star.
The actress shared the “rampant” event while appearing on the Broad Ideas podcast Monday, after sharing with the listeners that she has been rewatching the popular Fox series lately.
Callies admitted that by rewatching the TV show, which aired from 2005 to 2009, she got the chance to appreciate her time on set despite “all of the challenges” she first faced, being “the only woman around.”
She said there were “definitely two edges to that sword,” and recalled, “I’ve had an actor on that show spit in my face. And I was like, ‘Holy s–t.’”
Callies, 46, assured her followers that she and her former co-star Paul Adelstein would discuss the incident in more detail in a later episode of their podcast, Prison Breaking.
“We will talk about it someday, but … there were things. Like, I would go home some nights and have to spend an hour talking my husband out of going to hospitalize somebody,” she added.
The Walking Dead star admitted further that, “some of the guys were great, and some of them were totally gentlemen.”
