Adele has recently heaped praises on Sabrina Carpenter over her new song Espresso, calling it her “new jam”.
While speaking to her audience at her residency in Las Vegas on May 18, Adele shared one of her new favourite songs with her fans and even revealed how dealt with her break from performing due to a stint on vocal rest, via PEOPLE.
“I nearly pissed myself because my whole body clock was out of sync,” she told the audience at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Adele recalled, “So being on stage at 11:30, I was desperate for a pee. But I'm always, you know, [going] back to the hotel, in the hotel, whatever, by, sort of like, 11:10 at the latest.”
“And then I have to warm my voice down, then I have a steam shower and things like that,” she shared.
Adele stated, “As I got into bed last night — 'cause that's a very late night for me, normally I'm in bed by 9 p.m. — I found myself singing, 'I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer’”
“That Sabrina Carpenter song (Espresso)! ‘I can't relate to desperation.’ That song is my jam!” revealed the Hello crooner.
Interestingly, Sabrina performed the song on Saturday Night Live the same night that Adele was discussing it onstage.
“It came out and I couldn't talk!” said the Easy on Me crooner.
Adele added, “It came out when I couldn't talk or sing, so since my voice has come back, all last night and this morning that's what I've been singing.”
“From tomorrow, it will be like, 'I'm sleeping late 'cause I'm a singer,' because that's what I'm gonna do tomorrow,” quipped the songstress.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Sabrina responded to Adele’s praise as she wrote, “All I read was Adele thinks about me in bed.”
