World’s largest airport is under construction in Dubai by the name of Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA).
It is also going to have the world's largest sun canopy and a tropical forest. Visitors at the Airport Show in Dubai were shown a detailed look of it, according to Khaleej Times.
The new airport will boast its own transport system, mini-forests, green zones, entertainment hub and other offerings such as food, beverage, and retail once it is completed, as per the details provided by Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP), which is responsible for the design of the new passenger terminal.
To showcase the latest technologies on offer under the theme, "Sustainability and Innovation", the 23rd Airport Show is set to end today, as per the information available on the Airport Show website.
A detailed preview of the world’s largest airport was given by the DEAP at the show.
An elevated rail or automated people mover (APM) system that will move through an indoor tropical forest carrying passengers between terminals, is one of the appealing features of the airport.
Moreover, various landscapes and marine habitats will also be projected by giant LED screens.
“DWC is designed to give passengers comfort, recreation and mobility at the highest level,” said DAEP in a two-and-half-minute video.
