Prince William fears King Charles ‘not balancing’ work and cancer treatment
Prince William ‘concerned’ King Charles is taking on too much, too early
Prince William believes his cancer-stricken father King Charles should be taking it easy given his health condition.
The monarch had resumed his public facing royal duties earlier this week after he was cleared by the doctors to return. However, the Prince of Wales is worried that his father may be overworking himself.
“He wants to make sure his father is balancing his recovery,” a royal source told The Mirror. “He knows his dad loves work, but he does worry about him.”
King Charles, who had announced his cancer diagnosis in February, appeared emotional when he returned to his public duties on Tuesday, as he visited a cancer centre.
Another insider previously told The Times that the King feels like a “caged lion,” as he described himself in letters addressed to friends.
The King and Queen are to take on more than 200 new patronages amidst a major reshuffle of 1,000 roles. He is understood to be keen to focus on those with a focus on community, commonwealth, climate and culture.
The doctors are “sufficiently pleased with his progress” and which is why they have approved to host the Emperor and Empress of Japan next month for a state visit.
