Ed Sheeran reveals name of hit track from 'x' album that ‘ruined it’
Ed Sheeran is set to release 'x (10th Anniversary Edition)' to celebrate a decade of his sophomore album
Ed Sheeran is gearing up to celebrate the milestone anniversary of his second studio album, x, but before the album became a massive hit, he faced a challenging patch that nearly derailed the production process.
Speaking to Billboard on the red carpet of the 2024 Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday, May 2, the Shape of You sensation opened up about the track that gave him the most trouble during production. Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of the album's biggest hits.
"I remember ‘Photograph’ taking a really long time to get production right. It took a long while," the Perfect hitmaker recalled.
"That was the song that I didn’t really like at first because we spent so much time doing it and it ruined it," he explained.
"Now, I can look back and enjoy the process," Sheeran said, who now has become more mature and can see things through different lenses.
In addition to reflecting on past challenges, Sheeran has exciting plans for the album's anniversary.
He is set to release an expanded version of x, titled x (10th Anniversary Edition), on June 21.
This special edition will feature nine bonus tracks, all previously unreleased on vinyl, adding up to the anticipation ahead of its release.
