‘Young Sheldon’ creators announce spinoff series
‘Young Sheldon’ is the spinoff prequel of the 2007 show ‘The Big Bang Theory’
Young Sheldon show is expanding its branches.
CBS has officially ordered a Young Sheldon spinoff series about Georgie and Mandy for the 2024-2025 season.
Montana Jordan and Emily Osment will be in recast recurring roles, focused around Georgie and Mandy raising their family in Texas.
There hasn’t been an announcement regarding the title of the spinoff series.
The series, which was first reported to be in works back in January, will be a multi-camera comedy and not a single-cam.
The creators of the new series are Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland, same as the ones who produced Young Sheldon and the mothership show The Big Bang Theory.
“It has been a privilege to spend the last seven years with Sheldon and the Cooper family and now this wonderful journey will continue with Georgie and Mandy,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.
“Chuck and both Steves have done a masterful job developing these characters and entertaining generations of fans with relatable, heartwarming stories brought to life by Montana and Emily. We eagerly look forward to the next chapter in this beloved universe.”
The announcement of the spinoff series order comes amid ongoing broadcast of the seventh and last season of Young Sheldon.
