Song Kang is all set to embark on his mandatory military services journey following the success of his recent projects.
According to Soompi, on Thursday, February 29, the My Demon star’s agency released a statement announcing his enlistment date.
"Song Kang will be enlisting as an active duty soldier of the [Republic of Korea] Army on Tuesday, April 2," the statement revealed.
Further elaborating on his post-enlistment engagements, the statement continued, "There will be no official events held when he enters the recruit training center, and he will be enlisting privately to prevent safety accidents due to congestion on site."
In addition to urging the fans for their understanding and cooperation, the statement read, "We ask for the warm love and support of many people in order for Song Kang to return in good health with greater maturity after diligently completing his mandatory service."
The military enlistment came after the actor soared his professional career to new heights and continues to bloom following the success of his most recent, widely acclaimed action rom-com drama, My Demon.
Additionally, the 29-year-old South Korean actor earned the moniker of "son of Netflix" in 2021 in Korea as he showcased his acting chops in lead roles in three consecutive Netflix original series.
