The star quarterback of the three-time Super Bowl-winning team, Patrick Mahomes, has just won his third most valuable player (MVP) title, writing his name alongside one of the greats of the game, Tom Brady.
The 28-year-old played his sixth Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Sporting News reported.
This is the Chiefs' third Super Bowl win in five years, making them the first back-to-back National Football League (NFL) champions in almost 20 years.
The night ended with a Mahomes three-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman with three seconds left in overtime, giving the Chiefs a 25-22 victory.
Mahomes ran for a team-high 66 yards on nine carries, the second-most rushing yards by a quarterback in Super Bowl history.
Many fans have been comparing him to the likes of Lebron James, with one user writing on X.
Brady has the most Super Bowl MVPs in NFL history. Four of them came during his 20-year career with the Patriots, and his final one came in his first year with the Buccaneers when Tampa beat Mahomes' Chiefs in Super Bowl 55.
Whereas, Mahomes won his third MVP against the 49ers in Super Bowl 58 to put himself in elite company alongside Brady and Montana as the only players to ever win Super Bowl MVP three times.
That marks a massive achievement for Mahomes, who is in his sixth season as an NFL starter.
