Brendan Fraser is just as stunned by Rachel Weisz’s beauty as the rest of The Mummy fans.
With a fourth movie on the way, the Hollywood star reminisced on his time filming the first The Mummy movie in a new interview on November 19 via Entertainment Weekly. The Oscar-winning actor stopped in his tracks as he was presented with a picture of himself and Weisz on the set of the first film in 1999.
“Oh, wow. There’s Rachel. She’s just a beauty!” Fraser, 56, exclaimed.
Referring to his younger version in the photo, he joked, “I don’t know who that guy is, but he needs to stop taking himself so seriously.”
The picture was an iconic snapshot of Fraser and Weisz’s Rick and Evie on the Hamunaptra set in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
“It was hot, it was dusty… but it was great, good fun,” the Whale star added.
When asked about the recent news of a fourth installment of The Mummy, Fraser chose to remain tight-lipped, saying with a smile, “You know that my lips are sealed about that, don’t you?”
However, he did declare that just like the precious three films, the goal is to “give the fans what they want.”
Earlier this month, Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that a new Mummy movie is in the works. Plot and other details remain under wraps, but the film will be directed by Radio Silence Productions duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
