No 'KPop Demon Hunters' toys this Christmas: Here’s why

Fans hoping to unwrap KPop Demon Hunters toys this Christmas are in for disappointment.

Despite the Netflix and Sony animated hit becoming the streamer’s most-watched movie ever, its dolls, action figures, and collectibles won’t hit stores until 2026.

Earlier this week, Netflix announced major partnerships with Mattel and Hasbro to produce KPop Demon Hunters merchandise.

Mattel will handle dolls, playsets, and collectibles, while Hasbro will produce plush toys, electronics, and board games. However, none of the products will be ready in time for the 2025 holiday season.

A Netflix spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that when the company first approached toy manufacturers and retailers in 2024, there was only “soft” interest, as the film was a completely new and untested property.

One year and 325 million views later, demand has exploded — but production timelines can’t catch up that fast.

“Making toys and games usually takes about 18 months from concept to store shelves,” Mattel senior vice president Nick Karamanos explained, noting that the company is now moving at “warp-speed” to meet fan demand. “It is absolutely the fastest we’ve ever done.”

Netflix and Mattel are expediting approvals to launch the first wave of products by spring 2026, with more arriving through Christmas that year.

The companies also plan to maintain high quality and originality, with music from the film possibly influencing designs.

Until then, fans can find KPop Demon Hunters apparel and Funko Pop! figures through Netflix’s official store because official toys will have to wait another year.
