HYDERABAD: A quarrel broke out after a goat entered the fields of a landlord in the jurisdiction of the Seri police station in Hyderabad, resulting in the landlord shooting a nine-year-old boy dead on Saturday.
The child’s family held a sit-in with the dead body, blocking the Hyderabad-Badin road and protesting for the arrest of the killer and the man who helped him escape.
According to the FIR, landlord Agha Zubair Pathan had forbidden Tahir, 9, from letting his goat enter his fields, but the landlord quarrelled over the issue with the child’s parents, following which the landlord opened fire, killing the boy, then escaped on a motorbike with the help of Mahmood, alias Nana Mallah.
On Saturday evening, vehicular traffic was suspended due to the protest. Later, SHO Arsalan Channa assured the protesters that the murderer would be arrested, following which the sit-in ended and the flow of traffic was restored.
