Names of three candidates selected for Dow varsity VC post
The names of three candidates have been selected for the post of vice chancellor of the Dow University of Health and Sciences (DUHS).
The two female pro vice chancellors of Dow University, Professor Dr Nazli Hussain and Professor Dr Jahan Ara, are in first and second place respectively, while the head of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat of the Karachi Metropolitan University is in third place.
These three names should be sent to intelligence agencies for clearance, after which the Sindh chief minister will approve one of these three names.
The interviews for the post of vice chancellor of Dow University were held on Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8, while for the first time in the history of the search committee, two professors of Dow University, former vice chancellor Dr Saeed Qureshi and retired professor Dr Kartar Dewani of grade 20, were part of the expert committee.
Seventeen out of 23 candidates have been shortlisted for the post of vice chancellor of Dow University. According to search committee sources, the 23 candidates who applied for the post included Dr Amjad Siraj Memon, Professor Shahid Rasool, Dr Anila Atta-ur-Rehman, Professor Nazli Hussain, Dr Jahan Ara, Dr Fahad Jibran, Dr Mushtaq Ali Jakhrani, Dr Syed Masroor Ahmed, Dr Arshad Hussain Abro, Khalid Saifullah, Akhtar Ali Baloch, Professor Aurangzeb Sheikh, Professor Dr Syed Salman Adil, Professor Amanullah Abbasi, Dr Imtiaz Ahmed Qazi, Dr Iftikhar Ali Shalwani, Dr Syed Tassaduq Ali Shah, Dr Muhammad D. Nawaz Lashari, Syed Khalid Ahmed Ashrafi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdul Rashid Solangi, Dr Asma Faisal, Dr Asif Memon and Dr Anjum Rehman.
